About

Founded in 2005, Cornell Big Red Raas is a nationally ranked garba-raas teams. Garba-raas is a traditional dance form from Gujarat, India. Utilizing their passion and energy, Big Red Raas revamps this folk dance with modern moves to create truly jaw-dropping performances. Having won several competitions and awards in cities around the nation and on campus, Big Red Raas has developed a reputation of spreading joy and awe everywhere they go. We are recruiting for new members this fall! We will be taking freshman, transfers, and sophomores.

• Meet the Team | Outside Appel | Tuesday, 9/2 @7-8:30pm EST
  Get to know the team and meet the dancers prior to workshop and trying out! This event is optional, but we would love to meet everyone!
  
• Games on the Green | Slope | Sunday, 9/7 @4-6pm EST
  Come get to know the team in a chill event on the slope playing games! This event is optional, but we would love to meet everyone!
  
• Dance Workshop | Location TBD | Friday, 9/12 @4:30-6:30pm EST
  Learn Garba-Raas choreography! Also get to know some of our members, get information about our team, and ask us questions about the team or Cornell in general! This event is optional, but we would love to meet everyone!
  
• Sophs on the Slope | Slope | Sunday, 9/14 @2-4pm EST
  Get to know the sophomores on the team, last years new members, and learn about their first year experience on the team! This event is optional, but we would love to meet everyone!
